Hello and Welcome!
My name is Alisha. First and foremost, I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. I am also a wife to a wonderful husband and mother and homeschooler of two precious boys. My oldest son, Lil Man, is currently 5 years old. In August 2015, he will be starting a 1st grade level curriculum. For the past 4 years, he has been working his way through ABC Jesus Loves Me. He completed years 2-5 and is now at a 1st grade level. My youngest son, Big Boy, is 3 years old, and I'll be starting ABCJLM year 3 with him.
Before I became a stay-at-home mom, I was a teacher for 6 years. I have a bachelor's degree in English Education and received my certification to teach grades 6-12. My first year teaching was in a public school. I taught 7th-8th grade language arts and reading. After that experience, I moved on to teach in a private Christian school. In the 5 years I spent there, I taught 5th grade (all subjects) as well as 6th grade science classes and 6-8th grade reading and language arts classes. I also spent 10+ years as an active youth and young adult minister alongside my husband for our church. I'm hoping to use this blog as a way to share lessons that the Lord is teaching me as well as sharing our homeschooling journey.
